"The Living"

Sometimes I need to treat myself to explore new areas of creating. I generally make these sculptures around 5-6” tall but I splurged and made this lady 17” tall. She is made of air dry clay.

It's Neck Warmer Season!

It's been a while but I am back to making neck warmers again and I am so excited!! I have spent the past couple of years focusing on raising my little one but since he began school I have some extra time to get back into creating these beauties. I absolutely love working with color...piecing and matching fabrics together...obsessing over precision...and and quite simply the meditative repetition of sewing. Visit my shop to view available neck warmers.

Nursery Curtains

Things have been a little slow on here the past several months. I will be giving birth any day now and hope to come back full swing in the next few months. I'm sure I will definitely find some new life experience to draw from. As for now....my most recent projects include crafting for our little man's nursery. Bring on the baby mobiles and mountain curtains. Super excited for more projects ahead!

Art on the Hill: Featured Artist

A big thanks to Kettle Pot Tracks for choosing me to be their Featured Artist this week for their Art on the Hill series. Check out the visual artists and musicians featured on their site. Definitely worth it!

About Kettle Pot Tracks:

"Originally the name I gave to the demos I recorded of my band—Kettle Pot Black—but it’s become a bit more since we began producing our series “On the Hill.”

We have good equipment, good ears, and patience. Located in Lafayette Hill, PA, outside of Philadelphia, KPT is a welcoming, and incredible sounding space in which to record.

In our space we mostly work with singer-songwriters, though we will occasionally host bands. We also have the capability to do high-quality on-site recording, such as filming and recording live performances.

We support the production of the On the Hill series through contracted work: our rates are reasonable, our quality is high, and we pride ourselves on being very easy to work with. If you are interested in having KettlePot Tracks produce your next masterpiece, please drop us a line!"

New neck warmer design...

Spent some time on some new designs today. Sometimes I miss crocheting, especially playing around with color. Fun chunky cowls....getting ready for winter! Check out my winter fashion shop at:

Goodbye, Painting a Day, and thanks for now.

I'm currently feeling like I did not and do not enjoy doing the 5x7 paintings a day. I learned quickly that I enjoy painting for the meditative process and to have something to obsess over. I value spending time with my work. Attempting to quickly churn out a painting a day that I really had no attachment to was getting under my skin. Maybe one day I will attempt again, but for now I miss my portraits and larger scale works. Skill and style take time to develop and I have gained a greater appreciation for my own during this short stint.
